Hi Everyone... Welcome to Winter! A few updates...
While it's fresh in your mind visit the gallery this weekend. You can meet Elliot Leiva my new assistant. Next Thanksgiving weekend I'll be there on Saturday all day. As usual this is work that needs to be seen in person. The detail is amazing in Anthony Adcock's labor inspired, trompe l'oeil wood and concrete paintings, Brian Dettmer's intricate book Fragments, and the conceptual engraving of 400 plastic spoons by Michael Dinges. Here's the link to the new show which is all online now. For all of you out of towners, let me know if anything piques your interest and I can send you higher res images. Contact me at email@example.com or 773.458.3150 for any more information or stop on by the Chicago Gallery News offices at 213 W. Institute Place/3rd floor, in River North (near Chicago and Wells).
My upcoming Outsider and Folk Auction catalogue is now online. You can view it here. I have been working this for the past many months at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers. It's like an online book so just page through with the arrows. The auction is like a mini primer to the genre. Take a look if you have 5 minutes! The auction itself is December 15th with a special preview party on Monday, December 11th, from 5 to 8 pm. RSVP at the email below. All 4 fine art previews will be up so it will be very exciting. Who knows, maybe you'll get the auction fever. Questions? firstname.lastname@example.org or 312.334.4205.
I am occasionally playing out with my band Sinner's Friend. We have an interesting sound, sort of a cross between some old timey bluegrass, mixed with an Eastern vibe from the tablas. Here's our band camp link so you can take a listen. If you'd like to hear about our gigs, I am finally starting to compile an email list to let folks know about our shows. Please email me at email@example.com if you'd like to specifically hear about when and where our shows will be.
My other band members are:
Michael Dinges (guitarist) is one of the artists who is in the current art show. He's known for his scrimshawed plastic Mac laptops. Claire Halpin (fiddle) is an architect at Studio Gang Architects. Quinn Kearney (tablas) is a yoga teacher and co-owner of Yogaview in Bucktown.
Thanks if you've read this far. I hope to see you Thanksgiving weekend at my space, at Leslie Hindman Auctioneers when we have the previews in December, or at one of the Sinner's Friend shows.
