Most well known for making fake postage stamps, mailing them out and getting them through the postal system... this time out Thompson makes sculpture primarily from vintage Erector Sets. These metal materials were primarily used to make "replicas" of bridges, towers, steam engines, etc. Thompson takes these raw metal materials, in their various shapes and sizes, and turns them on their head in an appealing and approachable way. Always poetic, Thompson compositionally solves visual puzzles, and with the erector set as his medium, the possibilities are endless.
