Hello Fall Friends!

Our photo show and book signing is coming up so hoping you can make it if you wanted to get a signed book, or just come to visit and see some of the photos in person. I do have to say that the book is a lovely way to pull the project together, and of course the author Bill Swislow will be there along with the book's designer Don Di Sante, who are both friends for over 25 years... we will have an informal talk each day around 2pm. We will have 20 chairs.

The show is at 1100 Florence which is a "Former Polish Meat Shop Turned Art Event Space". Lisa Degliantoni and Dave Ford have a powerhouse space and do great things there so you should know about them.

General notes are below along with details...

11-5 p.m. Saturday Nov. 13 & Sunday Nov. 14
at 1100 Florence, Evanston, Illinois (map)

Author talks at 2 p.m. each day

LAKEFRONT ANONYMOUS is an exhibition and talk to celebrate publication of the first book about one of the world's great art treasures, which lies hidden in plain sight along Chicago's Lake Michigan shore: Thousands of vernacular stone carvings made over the course of the 20th century. They are magnificent yet rarely recognized, until now. Author and photographer William Swislow, photographer and essayist Aron Packer, and designer Don Di Sante will be there to talk about the carvings and to sign books. And images of carvings featured in the book will be available to buy. We will also have two rocks carvings that I absconded with when they separated during the freeze thaw cycles!

If you’d like to order a book you can do so here at Bill Swislow’s website.
